The most important concern for parents with infants is their safety due to their inability to express in a way that we could understand what they truly feel and when they are in trouble.
During this period, the child is very prone to injury with regards to the parenting skills, toys, and clothing. Infancy is when the child will either develop trust vs. mistrust according to Erickson’s Developmental Tasks. Lacking sufficient parenting skills could lead to improper feeding, failure to thrive, or could have an impact on their developmental delays. To prevent such to take place, here are some guidelines.
Infants should be regularly monitored for growth and development. There are charts that offer adequate information with the growth and development of a person. This can be obtained from a health clinic or in the hospital. This will determine if the child is growing in a normal phase or not, if the age, height, and weight are proportionate. The parents should be aware of their development so they will know if they should contact a physician.
Infant-Parent relationships should be assessed during feeding activities. The mother should be willing to feed her child unconditionally. She should be familiar on how to handle her baby when feeding.
Activities. The parents should be able to manage their time very well to avoid stress. When the parents are stressed, the child could not be properly taken care of because the parents will only think of themselves and their own aspirations. Workload should be shared on both parents and assistance should be sought when they could not both handle the situation.
Toys and clothes should be selected properly. Toys and clothes with small parts that can easily be detached or not are not to be given to infants to avoid choking which could lead to death.

As a parent we always think and wanted our children to learn from us and adapt all the possible good traits you can think of. We often hear people say that their moms were their first and best teachers they ever have. But since I became a parent, I could say that my daughter is and will always be my best teacher.
Of course she does not teach me how to read and write but she taught me how to see things in different ways. When my baby wakes me up with her shrieking cry, I’ve got no choice but to attend to her no matter how tired I am. I am the most impatient person you would ever encounter by I realized how I’ve developed my patience over the course of time.

This poem was recited by my daughter together with her classmates in their class assembly. This poem really touch my heart.
My Parents
Purer than the lilies is my mother dear
Sweeter than the roses in the garden near.
Stronger than the lion is my father dear
Mightier than the giant
In the stories hear
Their faces are like sunshine
Their hearts like gold
Now that I’m young
I take care of them when they grow old…

Learning begins at home and you know that for sure. The many values and skills that you have learned, you yourself learned from your own folks, and now it’s time to pass those things to your children for you would like them to have the same traits that you posses right at this moment.
Being a parent, I always see to it that they would learn all the good traits from me, that would mold them to be a likable, courteous, respectful and of course lovable and would make people to love them at what everything they are inside and out.

We don’t have that kind of bridge that keeps us apart from what’s running in their minds. And think about it, that it would be a great way to devote our time and of course share some quality time with our kids.
So here’s a few of those and you can expect that these things would keep on coming…
