Computer and TV – is it good or bad for our children?

pic-computer2 My ten year old daughter surfs the internet all by herself – she uses the computer at the living room. My husband installed a parental control in that computer to limit the amount of time of their playing in front of the computer. She was only allowed one hour for weekdays or school days. I also allowed my six year old daughter to surf the internet but usually she loves watching TV rather than playing computer games

The internet poses many dangers for our kids, as parents it’s our responsibility to be aware of what our children are up to on the web. They would be exposed to things that aren’t supposed to be viewed by them or even to be learned by them, such as cuss words that you sure wouldn’t bear hear coming from them at all.

But computers and television can be a valuable source of information. But how much is too much? Limit your child to a reasonable amount of time each day, or a week, for watching programs or playing on the computer.

If you leave your child to her own devices she may spend many hours mesmerized in front of the screen. They can get their eyes damaged to prolonged periods of time even though you have flat screen LCD’s. So do what you got to do and keep track of how your child uses the TV and the computer.
